North westbound over the Sierra Nevada Mountains (looking east) at about 30,000 feet but getting ready to descend. At 0:57, Mono Lake in center just below the clouds. 2:57, Yosemite Valley comes into view from left with two big rocks. Half Dome on right and Glacier Point on the left. 3:09, that is the Merced River. The road is Cal Highway 49. The bridge is Bagby, Calif. 4:10, Lake McClure. 4:40, the white dots are 50+ foot houseboats! At 5:00, Don Pedro Reservoir. At 7:00, begin the Calif. Central Valley farming. YOU, no matter where You live or Who you are, eat food from here !! 8:00, Warnerville. 8:50, from left, the Stanislaus River coming from the mountains, Knights Ferry on horizon. 10:00, Oakdale. 11:00, on the horizon, Woodward Reservoir Park. 11:50, Escalon. 13:50, ALL farming ! 16:14, a California prison in the background. 16:28, Highway 99.

Great video, I miss that departure so much. I used to live downtown in Little Italy, that view on departure never gets old, marine layer from LaJolla Shores north to Ocenside. Again, great video.

The thing about john wayne. Right before you take off, the engine is put at full throttle and then once it reaches full speed the brakes are released. which makes a fall into your chair head slam on the back of your seat feeling. But this has to happen due to the runway length. same as landing, no landing at john wayne is butter. it is always hard because they have to get on the ground as fast as possible.
